Position Summary:

  • The Senior Social Media Strategist will develop strategically focused content plans for social media that are actionable and measurable against client objectives. The Senior Social Media strategist is an expert in brand positioning, messaging and social media best practices and should be experienced in writing, creating, curating and editing social content. This is an integrated role that will work with specialists across the agency to bring to life brand strategies, ensuring content is clear, compelling and properly distributed across all platforms. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategically focused content plans for social media that are actionable and measurable against client objectives.  
  • Define social media strategies, tactics, content themes and KPIs that ladder up to larger client objectives.  
  • Analyze data and craft strategic insights and recommendations based on performance metrics. 
  • Present plans, findings and recommendations to the client on a regular basis.  
  • Stay up to date on industry news and current events for assigned clients, crafting recommendations based on timely topics. 
  • Collaborate with Social Media Strategists, Social Media Coordinators, copywriters and designers to ensure the content supports and strengthens user experience and meets outlined objectives.  
  • Lead content brainstorm sessions and manage deliverables on all assigned accounts. 
  • Work hand-in-hand with SEM and Community Management teams to further understand user paths and inquiries.  
  • Outline content execution needs, including shot lists and creative requests based on strategic insights and client scope of work. 
  • Manage the workload and development of assigned Social Media Coordinator(s). 
  • Oversee social media deliverables for assigned clients and assigned Social Media Coordinator(s). 

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field 
  • 5+ years of social media or agency experience preferred 

Required Skills:

  • Must have analytical abilities necessary to gather key business and user insights. 
  • Must have extensive understanding of social platforms and how to tailor content to different stages of the marketing funnel.  
  • Must have strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. 
  • Must have the ability to compellingly communicate a brand’s story. 
  • Must be an excellent writer with the ability to manage and maintain client voice, along with strong business writing and communication skills.  
  • Must have the ability to assist in creating high-quality photography, videos and reels. 
  • Must be a standout idea generator and problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Must have strong quantitative/analytical skills. 
  • Must have extremely strong attention to detail. 
  • Great attitude, desire to learn and ability to work in a team environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PPT
